The steel reinforcements embedded in each of our shoes, was specially developed to give heightened security and foundation. The steel reinforcements, also known as the shoe shank, is the curved piece of material found between the heel and the ball of your foot, on either the outer sole or middle part of the shoe. The shank is a crucial part of the shoes as it affects the functionality and is what gives a shoe its structure. The thoughtfully developed shank design of AMRJ, that has been perfected and crafted for several years, is placed within every shoe tactfully to promote and make certain of cozy all-day wear.

Meet Our Owner and Chief Designer
Angela Marie Reid-James, the owner of AMRJ Shoe Designs, started designing shoes when she was in junior high school. Her original plan was to work as a freelance designer and create designs to be purchased and/or manufactured by established labels. However, her dream grew to be much bigger.
In 2012, with more than 30 successful years in Corporate America, Angela picked up her sketchpad and started designing again. In 2014, she started AMRJ Shoe Designs as an official entity, with the dream of becoming a major footwear company that provides high-end fashion footwear for the hard-to-fit foot.
In 2017, Angela began an exciting mentorship under Mark Schwartz, an international shoe designer and creator of High Heeled Art. Angela also began taking classes from Mark to improve her artistic ability, expand her creativity, and learn more about the shoe design and manufacturing industry. In 2017, Angela started working exclusively with a family-owned factory in Italy to manufacture the shoes for AMRJ Shoe Designs.
In December 2019 Angela introduced AMRJ Shoe Designs’ limited pre-launch line. This limited line included three styles, the Amaya, the Roza and the Jasmyn, in various colors specifically selected for this pre-launch.
The Amaya is Angela’s twist on your classic high-heeled pump with accents across the toe and the heel. These are available in Black, Red, Taupe and Leopard print.
The Roza gives you a striking sandal ready for Church and the Red Carpet and are available in Chocolate Brown Croc, Grey and Black both in Italian Leather and suede.
Finally, included in the prelaunch is the Jasmyn, the perfect year round ankle bootie with uniquely designed slightly thicker heel. These currently come in both Black and Dark Grey suedes with studded accents.

AMRJ Shoe Design’s will continue their launch throughout 2020 bringing you an extended selection of styles and colors as well as various heel types and heights including kitten heels and YES, flats. Angela’s next release will include flats in two styles, the Jess and the Ari. The Jess is a ballerina sling with straps and buttons for additional accents. The Ari brings you that needed mule to slide into on your way out the door. Open toe and cross straps helps make this shoe stand out. Both will be available in AMRJ’s signature Leopard print as well as additional colors chosen with the help of our Shoe Color Challenge.
